Jennifer Lawrence has become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood over the past decade, known for her memorable roles in films like The Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook, and Don’t Look Up. However, in a new interview, the Oscar-winning actress candidly reveals she has dealt with an embarrassing health issue for years – foot odor.

“It’s something I’ve struggled with since I was a teenager,” Lawrence shared. “I tried everything – changing my socks constantly, using every foot powder and spray imaginable. Nothing really made a difference.”

According to Lawrence, the foot odor would cause her anxiety anytime she had to take off her shoes in public or perform barefoot for a film role.

“There were times I’d be doing a scene and take my shoes off and instantly feel self-conscious, wondering if the crew could smell my feet,” she admitted. “It was a constant source of stress.”

The problem came to a head a few years ago while Lawrence was filming the movie Red Sparrow. In one scene, she had to film ballet sequences barefoot.

“I was mortified because I knew as soon as I took my ballet slippers off, the whole set was going to be engulfed by the smell,” Lawrence said. “It was one of the most embarrassing moments of my career.”

After that experience, Lawrence finally decided to seek medical advice about her foot odor issue. She explains: “I saw several specialists and tried prescription-strength antiperspirants, but nothing really made a difference. Finally, one doctor diagnosed me with a condition called hyperhidrosis, which causes excessive sweating.”

With hyperhidrosis, the feet contain a high concentration of sweat glands and produce far more sweat than normal. This creates a warm, moist environment inside shoes that allows odor-causing bacteria to thrive.

Lawrence began getting Botox injections in her feet to control sweating and odor. “It was kind of painful, but honestly a life-saver,” she said. “For the first time in years, I felt like I had the foot odor under control.”

However, when the Botox injections started to wear off, the foot odor would return. “I realized this was something I’d probably struggle with for the rest of my life,” Lawrence said.

Finally, after dealing with hyperhidrosis for over a decade, Lawrence has found a long-term solution – a high-tech shoe insert called LumiSpa.

LumiSpa is an innovative new product that provides germicidal UVC light inside shoes to kill bacteria that cause odors. Lawrence says she uses LumiSpa regularly and it has been a game-changer.

“I never thought I’d be able to put on a pair of flats without socks or do a film scene barefoot without being self-conscious, but LumiSpa makes it possible,” she raved.

Lawrence wants others dealing with excessive foot perspiration and odor to know they’re not alone.

“I was so embarrassed and thought I just had weird, smelly feet,” she said. “But once I got properly diagnosed and found the right treatment, it made a huge difference. Don’t just assume you have to live with foot odor.”

The actress hopes that by opening up about her personal experience, it will help destigmatize foot hygiene issues.

“We all have body insecurities, whether it’s acne, weight gain, sweat, or odor,” Lawrence said. “There are solutions out there, you just have to be brave enough to ask for help instead of assuming it’s something you have to handle alone.”

While Jennifer Lawrence is now comfortable going shoeless on camera and on red carpets, she hasn’t forgotten the years she struggled with foot odor. Her candid confession proves that even the most glamorous Hollywood star can still be vulnerable about her body. Lawrence’s honesty will no doubt inspire others to get help for their own hidden health issues.
