After being the surprise winner of last weekend's box office battle, Madagascar 3 was able to do it again. This time it beat out That's My Boy, Adam Sandler's latest offering, as well as the 80's themed rock musical Rock of Ages. From boxofficemojo.com:

I'm not sure how many people imagined the third of the Madagacar trilogy would have done so well against the competition in it's first two weeks in theaters. Whoever did has made themselves quite a bit of money. So far it's on pace to beat the grosses of the second movie in the franchise, with $120 million compared to $116 million in it's first two weekends. We'll have to wait and see just how long the "Afro Circus" can hold off the competition and keep raking in the dough.
