Tina Fey

Tina Fey is caught on set filming 30 Rock in New York last Friday (Mar. 18). The actress was seen hanging out of her window while the cameras rolled and later filmed a scene on the sidewalk where she jumped onto a cushion. Check out all the latest pics from the set of the NBC comedy on Caught on Set's 30 Rock page.

Tina nabbed the cover of April's InStyle. In the accompanying interview, she joked that she misses her kids just as much as any other working mom:

"I remember reading some interview where Gwyneth Paltrow said something like, 'I missed my kids on the set one day and I was crying.' And I thought, 'Yeah, I've totally done that.' But on the website where I read it there were these furious comments. 'But you're a movie star!' Yes, it's much worse for a mom serving in Afghanistan. Of course. But there's just no forgiveness.

"Kids are definitely the boss of you," she says. "Anyone who will barge into the room while you are on the commode is the boss of you. And when you explain to them that you're on the commode and that they should leave but they don't? That's a high-level boss."

Peter Jackson

In these pictures released on the official blog, director Peter Jackson is seen on the set of The Hobbit in New Zealand. Here's what Warner Brothers said in the official press release:

"Wellington, NZ, March 21, 2011—Production has commenced in Wellington, New Zealand, on The Hobbit, filmmaker Peter Jackson's two film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s widely read masterpiece.

"The Hobbit is set in Middle-earth 60 years before Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, which Jackson and his filmmaking team brought to the big screen in the blockbuster trilogy that culminated with the Oscar-winning The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

"The two films, with screenplays by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson, will be shot consecutively in digital 3D using the latest camera and stereo technology. Filming will take place at Stone Street Studios, Wellington, and on location around New Zealand.

"The Hobbit follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers."

Expect to see the first Hobbit film in late 2012 and the final one in late 2013. Can't wait!

James Gandolfini

The Sopranos star James Gandolfini is spotted on the set of Cogan's Trade last week in New Orleans (Mar. 17). James is the first star (other than Brad Pitt) seen on the set of the crime thriller.

James' career is really booming - he has five other films besides Cogan's Trade currently in production: Violet & Daisy, Cinema Verite, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Twylight Zones, and Great Hope Springs.

It was also announced today that James will play Bobby Egan in HBO's film version of Egan's book Eating with the Enemy: How I Waged Peace With North Korea from my BBQ Shack in Hackensack. Egan is the owner of a BBQ restaurant in New Jersey who became involved in back channel negotiations with the North Koreans to convince them to stop producing nuclear weapons. It's a pretty amazing story - glad HBO acquired the film rights.

Leelee Sobieski

Leelee Sobieski is spotted on the set of the pilot for the new CBS drama Rookies last week in New York (Mar. 17). The show is being produced by Robert DeNiro and famed author Richard Price. Pretty nice team, so I'd expect this show to get picked up.

Also starring Adam Goldberg (Saving Private Ryan), Rookies follows six rookies on the NYPD and their attempts to balance their personal and professional lives. Sobieski will play Gen "White House" Perry (a former member of the White House Color Guard, hence the nickname), while Goldberg will play Lazarus, a smooth-talking former reporter.

Production will take place in New York through the end of the month.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar is spotted in New York last Friday on the set of the pilot for her new CBS drama Ringer (Mar. 18).

It's good to see Sarah back on the set of a TV show. She last starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which ended its run in 2003.

In Ringer, Sarah plays a woman on the run from the mob who poses as her wealthy twin sister to try and escape them - what she wasn't counting on that her twin sister had a price on her head as well. Sarah plays the roles of both sisters, Bridget Cafferty and Siobhan Marx, in the new series. Nestor Carbonell and Kristoffer Polaha also star.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock is spotted on the set of her new film Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close in Brooklyn on Friday (March 18). The actress changed outfits a few times during the day - check out the pics in the gallery below.

Also starring Tom Hanks and John Goodman, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close tells the story of nine-year-old Oskar Schell (Thomas Horn), an amateur inventor, jewelery designer, and astrophysicist, tambourine player, and pacifist who searches for a lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father who was killed in the 9/11 attacks. Bullock and Hanks play his parents while Goodman plays a doorman who aids Oskar on his quest.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by author Jonathan Safran Foer.

Director Stephen Daldry has said that he hopes the film is completed by this September so its release coincides with the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
