Katharine McPhee
Katharine McPhee is seen exiting the subway while filming her new NBC pilot Smash in New York yesterday (Mar. 28). Kat was also spotted on set - albeit, looking way less glamorous - earlier this month. Check out those pics here.
Kat told the OC Register a few weeks ago that she's grown a ton since her American Idol days:
"I've grown in so many ways. When I look back on it, I wasn't a developed artist at that time, I didn't have that experience, really, even though I'd done some things and may have portrayed myself as someone who was more seasoned.
"I had an upbringing in music. My mom is a voice teacher and my grandfather was a great performer. But I was always kind of shy about singing in public. I really preferred to sing in the security of my own home. When I got into high school I did musicals and that was comforting, to sing in character. It wasn't like standing up there with a band. But I had no solo experience really prior to 'Idol.' It was a really great training camp for me in many different ways."
