A scruffy Javier Bardem is spotted on the set of a commercial last Friday in Barcelona, Spain (Mar. 11). Not sure what the commercial was for, but really, does it even matter? Muy caliente!
If you missed Bardem's critically acclaimed film Biutiful in theaters last year, Lionsgate just announced that they're released the film on Blu-ray and DVD on May 31 (the Blu-ray will feature a "making of" feature as a bonus). At the Academy Awards last month, the Spanish drama was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film and Bardem was also nominated for Best Actor, so it's not to be missed.
Speaking of the Oscars, Bardem and No Country for Old Men costar Josh Brolin presented an award together and ABC missed what would have been the highlight of the show: they danced and kissed! Academy Awards producer Bruce Cohen told AfterElton:
"It [the dance and the kiss] was unscripted, and the plan in the truck was always to cut to Penelope in the audience applauding Josh's and Javier’s introduction, so that is what happened, just as they were starting to dance. Josh and Javier's moment (I saw them start to dance, but, to be honest, I have no idea if they kissed — that’s the first I've heard of that) would have made a great TV moment, but since no one knew it was coming, we cut to the gorgeous Mz. Cruz as planned. By the time we cut back from her close-up, James and Javier were walking to the podium."
