The Weekend Winner is a weekly update here on Caught on Set. Every Monday we will post pictures from the set of the movie that wins the box office battle over the weekend.

Marvel's The Avengers has finally been knocked out at the box office. Will Smith's third installment of the sci fi comedy franchise took the big prize over the weekend. Men in Black III finished first at the box office by raking in an estimated $55 million. From Boxofficemojo.com:

The Avengers may have dropped into second place this weekend, but the $36 million it pulled in is more than many movies make during their entire run. Also with that extra cash the movie moved over $500 million so far and puts it on pace to pass The Dark Knight as the Number 3 highest grossing film of all time. Men in Black III is Will Smith's third highest opening weekend ever, but it currently ranks as his 16th highest grossing movie of his career. Don't worry they have plenty of time to make up ground, although surpassing 1996's Independence Day may not be in the cards.

A Look Back: The Making of Men in Black III

“A Look Back” will be another series of posts we here at Caughtonset.com will feature weekly. It’s as simple as the title makes it sound. Each Friday we will take “A Look Back” to the set of a newly released film. Look at pictures from the set today, then watch the movie tonight.

This week we focus in on the making of Men in Black III. The third film of the Sci Fi Border Patrol trilogy hit theaters today. Once again Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are starring in the film and were seen way back in June of 2011 filming in New York City's Battery Park.

This time agents J and K, respectively, must travel through time to save Earth from an impending extraterrestrial threat. Josh Brolin, Jemain Clement, Emma Thompson and Nicole Scherzinger also join the cast for this go around.

Here's some great video of Will Smith on the set of Men in Black III last Wednesday in New York (June 29). The gregarious star took some time out from filming to talk with a group of kids from the DASH program in Philadelphia. What a thrill for them!

Will definitely hasn't forgotten about his hometown of Philly. In fact, earlier this year, after thieves broke into West Philly High School and stole $80,000 worth of computer equipment, Will stepped in and donated 20 Apple laptops and 1 Apple desktop to the school. You da' man Will!

Tommy Lee Jones finally spotted on the set of "Men in Black III"

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are spotted filming Men in Black III in Manhattan's Battery Park on Saturday June 18. They still look as good together as they did in the first film in 1997!

Filming of Men in Black III has been going on for the past few months (check out all the on-set pics here), but this is the first time Jones has been seen on set. Josh Brolin plays the younger version of Jones in the film, in which Smith travels back to the 1960s, and has been spotted a bunch on set.

Did you know? The first Men in Black film was a huge hit, grossing $589 million worldwide - $499 million more than its budget.

Will Smith hanging with the director on the set

Director Barry Levinson and Will Smith are seen hanging together on the set of Men in Black III in Manhattan on Saturday (June 11).

Will's wife Jada Pinkett Smith did an interview with USA Today over the weekend. She revealed that the couple are partners in both life and business (Will was on the set of the Jada-produced show Hawthorne almost every day last season):

"Everything we're involved in, we involve each other. We have different strengths. I'm really strong in character, and he's really strong in story. When we come together, it's a beautiful meld. ... The one thing I can say I did a good job on, I found a great man to father kids with. It's like if I didn't do anything else right in this world, my kids got a good doggone daddy. Shoot."

Will Smith is a Manhattan man in black

Will Smith is seen on the set of Men in Black III in Manhattan on Tuesday (June 7). The suave star was also seen on Monday filming a scene where he jumps out of a building and onto the top of a car - check out those pics here.

Will's wife Jada Pinkett Smith is featured in July's Uptown magazine. In the interview, Jada reveals that Will's extended time away filming blockbuster movies actually strengthens their marriage:

"People think that Will and I don't spend a lot of time together. Too much time, actually, if you ask me ... It's always nice to have a little time apart. Sometimes you need that."

Will Smith on the set of MIB3

Will Smith is spotted on the set of Men in Black III in the Manhattan neighborhood of SoHo on Monday (June 6). Will was seen jumping out of a building and onto a parked car - no stuntman needed for him thank you very much.

Josh Brolin was also spotted on set looking as handsome as ever. Check out the Men in Black III page for a bunch more pics of filming from April and Man.

Are we going to see Will opposite pop star Nicky Minaj on the big screen anytime soon? If she has her way, yes. She told Entertainment Weekly:

"I went to school to be an actress. I never expected to be a rapper. It just fell in my lap. So I would like to get an acting gig. I hope that when I am done with the tour I can go back and do some acting. That is my long-term goal. I want to work with Will Smith, because he's a very successful rapper turned actor and therefore a role model."
