A Look Back: "Total Recall"

“A Look Back” is a series of posts we here at Caughtonset.com feature weekly. It’s as simple as the title makes it sound. Each Friday we will take “A Look Back” to the set of a newly released film. Look at pictures from the set today, then watch the movie tonight.

Today we take A Look Back at Total Recall. This version is a remake of the 1990 of the same name that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. That's right kids, before he became a politician The Arnold was an actor. This time around the film stars Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale.

Total Recall may not best the take of TDKR but it should score the highest of this week's new releases. I wasn't sure about this movie when it was first announced, I'm not really a fan of remakes. But the more I see of the movie I'm pretty sure I'll be getting around to the theater sometime this weekend. I mean TDKR is great but it doesn't feature a woman with three tits! Or Kate Beckinsale for that matter.

Jessica Biel and Colin Farrell: "Total Recall" twosome

Jessica Biel and Colin Farrell are spotted filming Total Recall yesterday in Toronto (July 25). Farrell plays Douglas Quaid in the film - the same role that Arnold Schwarzenegger played in the original 1990 film.

Kate Beckinsale was also seen on set yesterday - check out the pics here.

At the Total Recall panel during Comic-Con over the weekend, Farrell joked with the audience about playing Schwarzenegger's old role:

"I play Douglas Quaid, an Austrian expat who rises to prominence in the world of bodybuilding. It leads to a very successful career in film only to find out that it's the perfect foundation for a career in politics."

Kate Beckinsale filming "Total Recall" today in Toronto

Kate Beckinsale is spotted filming Total Recall in Toronto, Canada today (July 26). The gorgeous star was seen walking around set with a prop gun and also filming a scene in a futuristic Dodge police car.

Kate's husband, director Len Wiseman was also seen on set. Check out some pics in the gallery. And don't miss the Total Recall page for some pics of Jessica Biel filming a scene yesterday.

At Comic-Con over the weekend, Wiseman revealed what drew him to the project:

"I was really gripped by the direction that the script went into. That and a love for both the film and the Philip K. Dick story. I'm fascinated by the reality vs. fantasy aspect to it, and wanted to dive a little deeper into that character's struggle."

Jessica Biel is spotted on the set of her new movie Total Recall in Toronto yesterday (July 25). Wow, she looks amazing for having just filmed an action scene!

Jessica revealed a little more about Total Recall - a reboot of the original 1990 film - at Comic-Con over the weekend in San Diego:

"I shoot an incredible gun, but I can't say too much, because it's special and new. And we were just driving some incredible cars that look amazing ... You can expect to be surprised, it is quite different and a reinvention of the characters and story. It is really based in reality, it is raw, darker and gritty. Of course there are incredible action sequences, cars and guns, but we're really focusing on the emotional aspect."

Jessica Biel's set scrapes

Jessica Biel is spotted sporting some cuts and scrapes on the set of Total Recall in Toronto on Monday (June 20). But don't worry, the scrapes were for a scene she was filming.

Colin Farrell was also recently spotted on set- check out his pics here.

Looks like Jessica is sporting some darker than usual hair for her role in the film. Jessica's colorist Tracey Cunningham told Us Weekly that she is loving it:

"Her color is supposed to look very rich for the film. It's definitely darker, but there are a lot of highlights all over. I also added a reddish gloss for extra warmth. She loves having dark hair, it looks great on her."

Colin Farrell on the set of "Total Recall"

Check out the always sexy Colin Farrell on set during the first day of filming his new movie Total Recall in Toronto on Tuesday (June 14). Can he be any hotter?

Farrell is starring in the remake of the 1990 film Total Recall, that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. We can look forward to seeing the talents of Kate Beckinsale, who will be playing Lori, and Jessica Biel, who will take the role of Melina, as they join Farrel in this remake.

Total Recall is scheduled to be released in August of 2012. Hope they do the original film justice!
