A Look Back: "Perks Of Being A Wallflower"

"A Look Back” is a series of posts we here at Caughtonset.com feature weekly. It’s as simple as the title makes it sound. Each Friday we will take “A Look Back” to the set of a newly released film. Look at pictures from the set today, then watch the movie tonight.

This week we take A Look Back at the new release The Perks of Being A Wallflower starring Emma Watson. Again it's a small release, but it seems like a really good movie with a great young cast.

Logan Lerman, Dylan McDermott, Kate Walsh, Nina Dobrev and Paul Rudd are also included in this all-star cast. I always wonder how films with such small budgets are able to get such awesome talent together. I guess they give up some on the production side to get better talent. And it seems like many actors are willing to take less money to be apart of an ensemble cast, especially if the screenplay is really good.

Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, and Ezra Miller are spotted on the set of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in Pittsburgh on Saturday (June 25). Hmmm, Ezra looks like he might be flirting a bit with Emma. What do you think?

Ezra is definitely a rising star in Hollywood. In April, he was interviewed by Kate Bosworth for a feature in Interview magazine. Kate asked Ezra about his dream role and he revealed:

"I always thought it would be really, really cool to play Edgar Allan Poe, because when I was a kid, he was one of the authors who really blew my mind open to all sorts of weird dark and twisted places. When I can grow a moustache, I want to play Edgar Allan Poe."

Edgar Allen Poe? That's not the answer you'd expect from an 18-year-old!

Logan Lerman is spotted posing for a picture with a fan on the set of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in Pittsburgh on Tuesday (June 21). Of course Logan has time for his fans!

According to Los Angeles Times, Fox has exercised the option on Logan and he will be starring in the sequel to Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Cool! The sequel will be directed by Thor Freudenthal, who also directed Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

According to sources, producers want to move pretty fast on the film so look for it sometime in 2012.

Nina Dobrev and Kate Walsh are spotted on the set of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in Pittsburgh yesterday (June 16). Nina tweeted the pic and jokingly said: "It's all business on the set of The Perks of Being A Wallflower @katewalsh and I don't like eachother at all."

Of course Nina also stars on the hit CW show The Vampire Diaries. She told MTV at the Movie Awards earlier this month that the show wouldn't exist without Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart:

"I'm very happy that [Twilight] exists because we exist because of them. Their success is our success. I'm kind of sad the movies are almost over ... Kellan [Lutz], Ashley [Greene] and the whole group—we all run in the same circles."

Logan Lerman is spotted on the set of his new film The Perks of Being a Wallflower in Pittsburgh last week (June 9). He is too cute for words! Logan also tweeted a pic of himself on set with co-star Mae Whitman and wrote: "my birthday present to Mae Whitman is forcing her to give me a shoulder massage! happy 23rd"

Speaking of Emma, she told MTV News that she was initially pretty nervous to appear in Perks because she wasn't sure she could master an American accent: "My accent? I was really nervous. I think it sounded terrible!"

Emma Watson is spotted on the set of The Perks of Being a Wallflower yesterday in Pittsburgh (June 7). The pic was tweeted by Emma's co-star Logan Lerman, who wrote: "The worlds foremost authority on style-miss emma watson!"

Logan also tweeted a bunch of other pics of his co-stars on set, including Nina Dobrev, Erin Wilhelmi, Landon Pigg, Johnny Simmons, Sarah Ramos, Ezra Miller, and Mae Whitman. Check them all out in the gallery.

Sounds like Emma is having a great time on set. She told MTV at the Movie Awards on Sunday:

"We've been shooting for, like, two weeks now, and we have three weeks left. It's been great. I'm having the time of my life. I really am having a very, very good summer."

The "Perks" of being Emma Watson

Emma Watson is spotted on the set of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in Pittsburgh on Tuesday (May 31). The Harry Potter star was also spotted on set last month - check out those pics here.

Make sure you watch the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday to catch Emma presenting a special sneak preview of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. MTV has more:

"Wizard-loving fans will be treated to a never-before-seen clip from the conclusion of the two-part motion picture event. From Warner Bros. Pictures, the last installment of the epic Harry Potter film series comes to theatres on July 15, 2011, marking the end of the most successful film franchise in movie history."
