Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood is spotted on the set of her George Clooney-directed political drama The Ides of March in Detroit on Tuesday (March 5). Co-star Ryan Gosling was also spotted on set. Check out all the pics in the gallery.

Wood is currently appearing in the HBO Depression-era miniseries Mildred Pierce with Kate Winslet. The beautiful actress explained to Fancast that the Titanic star helped her get over her fear of shooting a full-frontal nude scene that appears in the fifth and final part of the series:

"I was a lot more nervous than I thought I was going to be. I hadn't made my mind up if I was going to go full until we were rehearsing, and I was talking to Todd [Haynes, the series' writer and director] – like 'What do you think?' – and he was like, 'I think we're going to be chickening out if we don't just go for it.'"

"I looked at Kate and she was like, "You've got to do it. Trust me, it's so brave. Put a merkin [pubic wig] on and you'll be fine.' I had to wear a wig because it was in the 30s, and everything had to look like it was in the 30s."

George Clooney

George Clooney is spotted on the set of his new political drama The Ides of March in Detroit on Monday (April 4). Clooney was seen hanging out in front of the fictional campaign headquarters for his charcter, Governor Mike Morris. Ryan Gosling was also spotted on set. Check out all the pics in the gallery.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Clooney and the gang filmed a funeral scene at Christ Church Cranbook in the affluent suburb of Bloomfield Hills a few weeks ago. For the indoor scenes, the church "auctioned" off chances to sit in the pews as an extra and be part of the movie. More than $20,000 was raised to support the Bound Together tutoring program for local elementary school students. Awesome!

Evan Rachel Wood

Looking beautiful as ever, Evan Rachel Wood is seen on the set of The Ides of March at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Tuesday (Mar. 15). Wood was seen wearing a badge identifying her as a staff member of the fictional Governor Mike Morris (played by George Clooney).

Angela Smith, an extra on Ides, had a pretty interesting write-up of her experience on set Tuesday that she posted on AnnArbor.com:

9:50 a.m. "The director comes on to stage and introduces himself to us, the audience of roughly 700 extras. Who is directing this film? Why, none other than George Clooney.

"Most of us had no idea if we would even see the superstar today, so cheers and excitement erupted throughout the theater. The captive audience has no problem following direction and enjoying Mr. Clooney’s humorous quips and light banter.

"We enjoyed every minute of his attention, and he ours. During the day he tells us about his dinner last night at Ann Arbor’s Pacific Rim, joked with us the rivalry between Michigan and Ohio State, and had the crowds cheering for a University of Michigan film student named Yuri.

"There is a lot of waiting but the crew and cast are personable and friendly.

"We, the extras, are rearranged throughout the theater to shoot and reshoot a scene where George’s presidential candidate character is giving a speech about the importance of changing the world and the science of global warming. We are the enthralled supporters. We cheer and wave flags."

Being an extra sounds like fun!

George Clooney

George Clooney is spotted leaving The Power Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of the University of Michigan on Monday after filming a scene for The Ides of March (Mar. 14).

After filming last month in the Ohio cities of Cleveland and Oxford, Clooney moved to the Ann Arbor campus to shoot some of the final scenes for his political drama, which is based on the 2004 presidential campaign of Howard Dean (The Power Center is actually standing in for an auditorium at Kent State University). You can check out all the latest pics on Caught on Set's The Ides of March page.

The Detroit Free Press has more about what went down on set this morning:

"This morning, crew members were busy preparing for filming inside the Power Center for the Performing Arts. Outside, trucks lined the streets near the 1,300-seat theater as caterers, wardrobe staffers and extras got ready for their assignments. Hundreds of students are participating in the film as extras, according to Lee Doyle of the University of Michigan Film Office."

George Clooney

George Clooney is spotted on the set of the political drama The Ides of March late last week in Oxford Ohio (Mar. 3). As mentioned before, Clooney's directing and starring in the film - though, judging by his attire, it certainly seems like this was one of his acting days.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, George and the gang (including Ryan Gosling) are done filming scenes in the the area and are now moving on to Detroit. Rob Braun - who plays a TV reporter in the film - told the paper that his good friend George is nothing but a class act to work with:

"[George's] work load is extraordinary. He's directing [The Ides of March], he adapted it, and he's starring in it. When I was with him, there was a constant stream of people asking for decisions, and he confidently knew what he wanted.

"And all the while, he was nice and kind to everyone around. He's one of the most powerful people in Hollywood, and he's just a normal guy."

Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling is seen on the set of The Ides of March in Oxford, Ohio yesterday (Mar. 2). George Clooney - who's both directing and acting in the film - was also spotted on set. You can see his pics in the gallery below.

Before moving to Oxford, Ides had been filming for a few weeks in Cincinnati (about 30 miles away). You can see all those on-set pics on Caught on Set's The Ides of March page.

I wonder if Olivia Wilde will be joining Ryan on set? The two flirted up a storm with each other in January at the The Weinstein Company's Golden Globes After Party, and were spotted on a brunch date Sunday at 'Nada' restaurant in Cincinnati. After the meal, the two went to an aquarium across the river in Newport, Kentucky. A spokesman for the aquarium told People:

"They didn't seek any special treatment or behind-the-scenes access. They paid for their tickets and enjoyed, among other things, our current star animal, Mighty Mike, a 14-foot long American alligator."

"the first one [ed. note - the pic of Ryan walking through the door in the gallery below] is from the comfort suite hotel in bellevue, ky! we were actually staying at the hotel so we had full access... pretty much the only "regular" people there.. hotel was flowing with props/cast/crew - it was AMAZING! their trailers were across the street ..... so we walked outside when ryan was ready and came out - he was transported over to the hotel in a white fan and this shot was taken when he was walking in!

"the other one [ed. note - above] is downtown cinci - i believe at macy's or near macy's... they were filming and ryan stopped and took a picture of my sister ashley, taking a picture of him! lol :) "
