Ryan Gosling Shoots New Ending For "Gangster Squad"

Ryan Gosling is seen re-shooting a controversial scene on the set of his current project Gangster Squad. The alternative ending is set to replace the original as it had many similarities to the recent tragic shooting at the Colorado premiere of the new Batman film.

It's always sad when real life people act the way characters do in movies. Especially when it leads to such a horrible tragedy like the one in Aurora, Colorado. I'm glad the filmmakers are willing to go back to the drawing board and reshoot the ending. It's a very nice gesture on their part, especially once you consider that they had to rewrite the ending and make it fit with the rest of the story and the cost involved with reshooting scenes that were already finished. Good for them.

Ryan Gosling is spotted filming his new movie The Gangster Squad in Los Angeles earlier this week (October 3). A cool hat and suspenders - what's not to love about his outfit?

Look for Ryan's new movie The Ides of March in theaters this Friday. The film's star/director George Clooney told Entertainment Weekly what drew him to casting Gosling as campaign consultant Stephen Meyers:

"When we were adapting the screenplay, from the very beginning, we had been considering Ryan all along. He and I had long conversations about film a couple of years before so I always wanted to work with him. I liked him. I thought he was smart.

"He's an interesting actor. He's now in sort of every movie, but for a long period of time he was sort of the reluctant star."

Giovanni Ribisi and Josh Brolin are seen filming their new movie The Gangster Squad in Los Angeles earlier this week (October 3). Oh my gosh, this movie looks like it's going to be SO cool!

The Gangster Squad is based on a seven-part Los Angeles Times series by Paul Lieberman in 2008 about how a special "Gangster Squad" unit was created by the LAPD in the 1940s to prevent the East Coast mafia from infiltrating the city.

The film is scheduled for release on October 19, 2012.

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are spotted filming their new movie The Gangster Squad in Los Angeles yesterday (September 21). OMG! Check out how cute that dog is!

Ryan and Emma are familiar with each other, having both starred in Crazy Stupid Love, which is in theaters now. She's also playing Andrew Garfield's leading lady in The Amazing Spider-Man, which is due next summer. Basically, her career is booming. Emma told the Herald Sun earlier this week that she's amazed by her success:

"I'm not dealing with it very well. And I'm very aware that it's a moment right now. Of course it's very exciting but time will pass so I'm trying to appreciate the present and live in the moment. If I ever get overwhelmed by everything that's happening to me, I think, 'Get over it, sweetheart. It will be gone one day.'"

Ryan Gosling is spotted on the set of his new movie The Gangster Squad in Los Angeles last week (September 16). Does he smoke now? Meh, it's probably just for the movie.

Also starring with Gosling in the film is Emma Stone, Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, and Nick Nolte. IMDb describes this movie as: "a chronicle of the LAPD's fight to keep East Coast Mafia types out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 50s." Sounds like it's going to be a good one.

In other Gosling news, he recently told The Times that he envisions a family in his future:

"I'd like to be making babies but I'm not, so I'm making movies, When someone comes along I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that. I'll make movies until I make babies. I have no idea when the handover will happen."

Hopefully he doesn't have a baby anytime soon. I want to see him in more movies!
