Rhys Ifans and Andrew Garfield are spotted filming a scene for The Amazing Spider-Man in Brooklyn on Saturday (May 7). The pics are the first clear look at Ifans' character Dr. Curt Conners - aka "The Lizard." The green thing he's wearing around his hand is to make it easier to add a special effect (lizard arm?) in post-production.

Director Marc Webb was also caught on set. You can see the pics of him in the gallery below. Webb told MTV News last year what originally attracted him to the new Spider-Man project:

"I think that there's something about Peter Parker that's just... He's a legend. That mythology is appealing to me and it has been for a long time. It's just a dream come true. [Sam Raimi] did something fantastic, but I do think the mythology of Spider-Man is wide and vast, and there's more opportunity to explore that cinematically. Sam is not only a great guy but a fantastic director and it's a humbling prospect, but I'm looking forward to it."

Peter Parker (aka Andrew Garfield) is seen hanging around on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday (May 7).

Andrew and Emma Stone did a lot of filming last week in New York. Check out Caught on Set's The Amazing Spider-Man page for all the latest pics.

A big congrats are in order for Andrew for scoring two MTV Movie Award nominations. The new Spider-Man is nominated individually for "Breakout Star" and, with his The Social Network co-star Justin Timberlake, "Best Line from a Movie" ("…A million dollars isn't cool You know what's cool?" "A billion dollars. And that shut everybody up.").

Emma Stone filming "The Amazing Spider-Man"

Emma Stone is spotted filming a scene for The Amazing Spider-Man Sunday night in Manhattan (May 1). Stone plays Peter Parker's (Andrew Garfield) love interest Gwen Stacy in the big budget film.

The Amazing Spider-Man is going by the code name Fiona's Tale while filming. Check out this casting report from earlier this year:

"Wendy is looking for 18tly REAL KISSING COUPLES for Fiona’s Tale, working this WED, 2/16. You must look like you are in High School. Any ethnicity, but LOOK 18 YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER. Real couples preferred. Male/Female couple needed. If you want to submit, please call Wendy at 818/260-3951 and leave your and your significant other’s info.

Is that Andrew Garfield?

Andrew Garfield - or possibly a stuntman - is spotted on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in Manhattan on Tuesday (May 3). Garfield was spotted on set over the weekend (pics here), but there's no telling if that's him in the Spider-Man suit.

Look for the new Spider-Man reboot to hit theaters on July 3, 2012.

Garfield told Details last year that he knew his life would never be the same after he was named the new Spider-Man:

"I realized immediately how much hard work it was going to be. how much of a minefield it was going to be in terms of all the shit that comes with it. Stuff that I would like to not have any part of. I mean visibility and being recognized walking down the street. I'm holding out a naïve and ignorant hope that it won’t happen."

Andrew Garfield is a "Spider-Man" stud

Andrew Garfield is spotted walking back to his trailer on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in Manhattan on Saturday (April 30). Garfield hasn't been seen in his Spidey suit on the New York set like he was in Los Angeles. I wonder if he's filming scenes as Peter Parker?

Emma Stone was also seen on set on Saturday - you can check out those pics here. Speaking of Emma, she told E! that the shooting of the film is nearly complete:

"We're doing exteriors in New York for a couple of weeks, so it'll be done in mid-May. So, yeah, it was only a six-month shoot."

Emma Stone "The Amazing Spider-Man"

Emma Stone is spotted leaving her trailer on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in New York on Saturday (April 30). Emma plays Peter Parker love-interest Gwen Stacy in the film and of course Andrew Garfield is Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man is wrapping up production on the East Coast after filming earlier this year in Los Angeles. Check out all the latest on-set pics on The Amazing Spider-Man page.

Emma told MTV last November about her mental approach to the new blockbuster film:

"The way I have to approach it, and I think Andrew would agree, is just like any other movie. You're going to put the same amount of focus into this that you would with anything. It just happens to be an exponentially bigger budget. So there's that. It'll probably feel different when we start to do press, but we won't have to deal with that for another year and a half. And there are harnesses I'm going to have to use in this one. That's the only difference. Just the harnesses."

Andrew Garfield on the set of "The Amazing Spider-Man"

Andrew Garfield is seen on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man last week in Los Angeles. Be sure to check out Caught on Set's The Amazing Spider-Man page for all the latest on set pics from this highly anticipated film which is due to hit theaters in Summer 2012.

Andrew admitted in a recent interview that after he heard the news that he got the role of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man, he remained pretty calm - nah, I'm just kidding. He went crazy:

"I just blacked out and ran around naked for a while or something. Ha! I tried to climb walls and stuff and broke my wrist — no not really.

"I never expected to get it because it's something that you dream about when you’re four years old and how often does reality match up with a dream. Never, but I've been very, very lucky. You never think you’re going to get a chance to portray a symbol that has meant so much to you since you were old enough to understand the concept of justice. It's just an incredible thing.”

OMG I can't wait for this movie!
