Robert Downey Jr. is seen walking on the set of his new movie Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London on Saturday (September 24). Robert was also spotted on the set of The Avengers a few weeks ago (pics here). What a busy guy!

Speaking of The Avengers, Robert was fiddling with his Iron Man costume on set and accidentally hit Scarlett Johansson! A source told the National Enquirer:

"It suddenly jerked backward and whacked poor Scarlett. Knocked silly, she staggered backward, then lost her balance and fell off the low platform they were standing on. Robert, who couldn't help because he literally can't move in that iron suit, was beside himself – he kept apologizing. Scarlett smiled about the incident."

Here's some more pictures - taken last month in Strasbourg, France - from the set of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. In one of the pics, you can see a jug of fake blood that was used for a fight scene. Check out Caught on Set's Sherlock Holmes page for all the latest on-set pics.

Game of Shadows star Robert Downey Jr. talked with MTV last month about the struggles of incorporating the villain Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) into the new film:

"I think the trouble we ran into is in the books, they refer to him more than they actually see and hear from him, which keeps giving him more power.In a cinematic sense, that won't work. In a book, that's great. I think that was one of the struggles.

"[Moriarty's] always considered to be the spider at the center of this vast web. We were able to play with the idea, in a period film, what if all of these conspiracies were true and what if they could all be linked to a single individual. And that's what made it so great."

Robert Downey Jr. is spotted on the set of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in Strasbourg, France. Pics are a bit old (from Feb. 5 - I didn't find them until today) but I thought you'd still enjoy. Rachel McAdams also makes a surprise cameo in the film (pics here).

Game of Shadows commences several months after the events of the first film and will involve Holmes (Downey) and Watson (Jude Law) hunting for the dangerous and ever-elusive Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) from London to Paris to Germany to the Swiss Alps.

Can't wait!

Rachel McAdams filming "Sherlock Holmes 2"

February 5 - Rachel McAdams is spotted making a surprise cameo on the set of Sherlock Holmes 2 in Strasbourg, France. McAdams played professional thief Irene Adler in the first film and there was some question whether she'd be back for the sequel. Question no more!

The streets of Strasbourg were turned into a pretty authentic European village, which you can check out in the gallery below.
