Seth MacFarlane's first foray into the movie business has so far been a resounding success. The Family Guy creator's first film, Ted, won the box office battle over the weekend. By pulling in $54.1 million from 3,239 locations it became the highest opening original R-Rated comedy ever. From Boxofficemojo.com:

Congratulations Seth! What a great success. I haven't had a chance to see the movie yet, but the trailers look hilarious. Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis are a great pairing and look great too, which never hurts. I thought it would end up as the weekend's top box office draw, but I never thought they would pull in so much money. Ray Subers said it best, "After nearly two months of Summer movies targeted at younger audiences, this weekend served as a good reminder that adults like to go to the theater too." Indeed we do!
