The final episode of "Eureka" filming in British Columbia

Colin Ferguson and Salli Richardson are spotted filming the series finale of their show Eureka last week in Chilliwack, British Columbia (August 24). So sad! I'm gonna miss this show.

Eureka executive producer Amy Berg said that SyFy didn't want to cancel the show, but they were pretty much forced to:

"We are the network's golden child in every way, except profit margins. Fact is, #Eureka is an expensive show to make. And we could not maintain the quality of our show with the cuts it would take to make us profitable for Syfy's new parent company [Comcast]. Our creative execs at Syfy fought hard to keep us. Trust me, they LOVE us. We just couldn't make the numbers work."

Niall Matter, Salli Richardson, Matt Hastings, and Neil Grayston are spotted on the set of their SyFy series Eureka last week in Vancouver (August 11). Grayston tweeted the pic and said: "Hangin' at GD with @niallmatter, @sallirichardson, @mattdirector, and a sandwich."

Sad news for Eureka fans as it was announced earlier this month that the show is getting canceled (even though it was initially renewed). Series-regular Erica Cerra told Entertainment Weekly it was a sad day on set when the news was announced:

"The final blow. Yeah, that was just sad. There's no other word to use. It was a sad moment. We weren't prepared to say goodbye. Hopefully the final episode will do the show justice."

Salli Richardson is spotted on the set of the SyFy series Eureka in Chilliwack, British Columbia last week (July 25). Richardson plays Department of Defense agent Allison Blake in the series.

Also spotted on set was Colin Ferguson and Chris Gauthier - check out the pics in the gallery.

Speaking of Colin, he said last month at Comic-Con that he thinks Eureka is just hitting its high note as a series:

"I think the show is as good as it's ever been. That had to do with sort of a big shift down here in the writers room and, sort of finally finding our footing and getting our way back after the writer's strike and all of the big Hollywood problems that happened. It made it really difficult even to know if you were going to have a job.

"So, we have a really solid group of writers and a really sort of core group of people that hasn't changed, so that's why it sort of feels really energized and is really firing on all cylinders."
