“A Look Back” is a series of posts we here at Caughtonset.com feature weekly. It’s as simple as the title makes it sound. Each Friday we will take “A Look Back” to the set of a newly released film.Look at pictures from the set today, then watch the movie tonight.
Magic Mike just might be one of the most anticipated movies of all time. At least of this year. By women. I don't think it's just me who can't contain myself waiting to see Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew Bomer and Channing Tatum play strippers. Magic Mike will be competing with several new releases, as well as Disney's Brave, for the number one slot at the box office.
Take it all off and you'll have every woman across the country rushing to see your movie. Sorry I got a little excited there. Oh I guess there are some actresses in the movie also. Some people named Riley Keough and Olivia Munn to name a few. I don't know why they are in there, just show us ladies the goods and we will all watch this movie...twice. Magic Mike is in theaters now, go to fandango.com for showtimes and tickets in your area.
After Olivia was hired as a correspondent on The Daily Show earlier this year, producers were criticized for hiring "just a pretty face." As Olivia explains to CNN, that's really not being fair to her:
"They said, 'Oh, she's the Maxim cover girl,' which I get. But I'm just like, I'm sorry - you can put yourself in a box, I just refuse to let you put me in one, too. They're trying to reduce it to, 'You can't be on the cover of Maxim and you can't be pretty and also be smart and funny. You're only getting by on your looks.'"
Olivia Munn is spotted doing a photoshoot for Shape magazine in Malibu on Friday (July 29). Whoa! Someone's been eating their Wheaties!
Don't miss Caught on Set's photoshoot page for a lot more pics of celebrities on photoshoot sets.
Munn told Salon last year that she understand why a lot of people don't like her:
"I'm easy to hate. I get it. When I first came to L.A., I would go to these commercial auditions for Target. I'm 110 pounds now, but I used to be 135. And I would go to these auditions and these girls would be, like, in that effortless L.A. look: T-shirt, jeans and flats. So thin they'd just walk with a shuffle. I know what it’s like to not think it’s fair for someone to look a certain way and also get the dream job. But it's ridiculous to say that a woman can't be funny and also be sexy."
Olivia Munn is spotted filming a commercial for Carl's Jr. in Los Angeles earlier this month. Also seen on set was NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The two teamed up to introduce the burger chain's new slogan "Just the way it is."
Carl's Jr. has used a string of celebrity endorsers in the past including Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and Audrina Patridge.
Check out some behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot:
January 17 -- Sarah Jessica Parker and Olivia Munn are seen filming the comedy I Don't Know How She Does It in New York.
Also starring Christina Hendricks and Pierce Brosnan, I Don't Know How She Does It is based on Allison's Pearson's debut novel of the same name -- which I personally loved (check it out here). Can't wait for the movie!
Here's what Amazon said about the book: "I Don't Know How She Does It, is a rare and beautiful hybrid: a devastatingly funny novel that's also a compelling fictional world. You want to climb inside this book and inhabit it. However, you might find it pretty messy once you're in there. ... The book is a pearly string of great lines."
