Is Tom Rebounding With His "Oblivion" Co-Star

Tom Cruise looked very happy on the set of Oblivion with his stunning Ukrainian costar Olga Kurylenko, with whom he shared a passionate moment locking lips with on set. The two were very chummy together, laughing and flirting.

Is Cruise mixing business with pleasure and trying to find his rebound chick while on the job? Or is he just trying to pretend that he isn't completely miserable after Katie Holmes left him and took Suri with her? I'm just going to say yes and you can decide which one sounds the best to you. I'd like to think he is moving on from Holmes and moving on up to Kurylenko. That's what Jerry Maguire would do.

Olga Kurylenko Continues Filming "Oblivion"

Olga Kurylenko was caught on set of her latest film Oblivion on July 11th in June Lake, CA. Kurylenko comes out of the Odyssey spacecraft and reads a map on set. Tom Cruise was also filming that same day and those pics can be seen here.

I know the picture description says she is exiting a "spacecraft," but that looks a lot like a trash can. I know a trash can when I see one and that's a trash can. I guess they can always make it look better in post production and I really hope they do because that still looks like a trash can.

Tom Cruise Is Back To Work On Set Of "Oblivion"

Just days after his divorce to Katie Holmes was settled Tom Cruise was back at work. On July 11th Tom Cruise was spotted firing a weapon on the set of Oblivion in June Lake, CA. Unfortunately for Cruise he may end up in court after all. From Ibtimes.com:

"Within days of reaching an amicable divorce settlement with Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise again seems to be hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

An article published in The Hollywood Reporter July 11 cites how the actor's attorney has threatened to sue American Media Inc, the parent company of National Enquirer that carried a report stating that it had the details of Cruise's split with Katie Holmes."

That sucks for Cruise. Not only did he have to deal with all the drama of getting a divorce, but now he has to deal with rumors about him being a "monster". If I were going through what he has to deal with right now, I would want to go back to work also. Fo Sho. Again, that sucks for him man.

Tom Cruise Films "Oblivion"

Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko shoot scenes for the film, Oblivion, near the Empire State Building in New York City on June 12th. Cruise was recently given an amazing honor by the Friars Club in New York. From SFGate.com:

"The Friars Club, best known for searing celebrity roasts, held the insults when it toasted Tom Cruise.
The actor received the fourth ever Friars Club Entertainment Icon Award on Tuesday night, placing him in the same company as Douglas Fairbanks, Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra.

"After my first film I remember thinking I just wanted the opportunity to do it again. And I didn't know whether I was going to have it again and so to be doing this now; it's kind of amazing to me," he said on the red carpet."

That is an incredible award to receive. The fact that only three people before you have ever been honored in the same way makes it incredible by itself, but then after you take a look at who the three were and it's even more amazing. Fairbanks, Grant and Sinatra are all truly "Icons" of the entertainment industry. Congratulations to you Tom Cruise, you are in amazing company!

Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko Film "Oblivion"

Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko were spotted filming their new movie Oblivion on June 12th in New York City. The movie is based on the comic book by Arvid Nelson and Joseph Kosinski of the same name. Kosinski will also take his second shot as a director after 2010's TRON: Legacy. From comicbookmovie.com:

"Oblivion is based on Kosisnski's graphic novel of the same name and focuses on the last man (Cruise) on a post-apocalyptic Earth, who stays behind to repair ships that hunt down and blast a virulent alien species. Michael Arndt is currently working on script re-writes that had earlier drafts by William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing through Chernin Entertainment along with Barry Levine and Kosinski."

Based on a comic book? Check. Post-apocalyptic Earth? Check. Tom Cruise? Check. A whole lot of other great actors (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Morgan Freeman, Zoe Bell and Melissa Leo)? Check. This sounds like my kind of movie. The release date is currently set for April 26, 2013.
