The Weekend Winner: "Snow White and The Huntsman"

The Weekend Winner is a weekly update here on Caught on Set. Every Monday we will post pictures from the set of the movie that wins the box office battle over the weekend.

Snow White and The Huntsman is this weekend's box office winner. The new take on the classic tale took the number one spot by pulling in more than $56 million over it's first three days. It beat last week's number one movie MIB 3 by nearly $30 million despite playing on 500 less screens. From Boxofficemojo.com:

Although the film still has quite a ways to go before catching The Avengers, $56 million is quite an impressive pull especially during the first week of June. The biggest surprise of the weekend was Wes Anderson's newest Moonrise Kingdom. it only grossed $849,000, good for 13th place, but it did so on only 16 screens. It's $53,063 per screen average was by far the best of the weekend.

A Look Back: Snow White and The Huntsman

“A Look Back” is a series of posts we here at Caughtonset.com feature weekly. It’s as simple as the title makes it sound. Each Friday we will take “A Look Back” to the set of a newly released film. Look at pictures from the set today, then watch the movie tonight.

Last November Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth were seen filming Snow White and the Huntsman in the UK. Now just 7 months later we finally get to see the finished product. The film also stars South African beauty Charlize Theron as the evil witch. From boxofficemojo.com:

"The first weekend of June is typically a tough time to open a movie, given the usual strength of the late May holdovers. How fortuitous, then, that the only major studio release this weekend—Snow White and the Huntsman—is opening on the heels of MIB 3, which is performing fine enough but isn't sucking all the oxygen out of the air. This should give Snow White plenty of room to breathe at its 3,772 locations, and it will likely claim the top spot at the box office this weekend."

3,700 screens is a lot of theaters, although they'll have to hope for better per screen ticket sales to knock off MIB3 which opened on 4,200 screens last weekend. Does Snow White and it's talented cast have what it takes to beat MIB3 and claim the top spot in the Box office battle for this weekend? Kristen Stewart's wild night of filming

Kristen Stewart is seen filming her new movie Snow White and the Huntsman in London yesterday (November 17). In the scene (which took several hours to shoot), Kristen runs through a burning thatch village.

At the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 in Los Angeles earlier this week, Kristen told reporters how much fun she's having filming Snow White with her co-star Chris Hemsworth:

"I've had the most indulgent experience on Snow White and the Huntsman so far. We had a lot of pre-production and I really got close with the director [Rupert Sanders] and Chris and everything, so I'm having a great time!"

Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth are spotted on the set of Snow White and the Huntsman in London last week. (November 10). Robert Pattinson and now Chris? It must be really tough for Kristen working with all these gorgeous men!

Notice in the pictures that Kristen's hand is bandaged? She actually injured it (and her knee) filming a scene earlier this month in Wales. She said at a press junket in Los Angeles:

"I got hurt... It's a minor thing... I was just fighting dwarves then hit my knee really hard."

Kristen Stewart is seen filming her new movie Snow White and the Huntsman on the South West Coast of Wales last week (September 29). You can tell from all the set pics that this is going to be a modern take on the classic Snow White fairytale.

Kristen's co-star in the film, Sam Claflin, told Digital Spy that he has the utmost confidence in her:

"I've only done one tiny scene with Kristen so far, but I have every hope in her. I truly believe and trust in her and I'm pretty sure she'll do an absolutely diamond job of it. I'm pretty sure she's excited about the challenge."

Kristen Stewart drops by the set of "Cosmopolis"

Kristen Stewart is spotted on the set of Cosmopolis in Toronto last week (July 7).

Kristen's not actually in Cosmopolis - she was just stopping by set to see her boyfriend Robert Pattinson. Check out the Robert Pattinson page for tons of pics of him on set.

According to reports, Kristen also brought the couple's dog Bear, which they rescued earlier this year. Robert told a German newspaper in May that it was tough settling on just one dog: "Thank God that Kristen was with me. So we just adopted one dog. A mutt. We called him Bear."
