Johnny Depp, Chloe Moretz, and Asa Butterfield
Courtesy of ComingSoon.net, here are the first pictures (from the newspaper Le Parisien) from Martin Scorsese's Hugo Cabret, currently being filmed in Paris. The speculation about Johnny Depp being in the film can finally end - that's him on the left; also spotted is Chloe Moretz and Asa Butterfield.
The film, based on Brian Selznick's bestseller The Invention of Hugo Cabret, tells the tale of Hugo (Butterfield), a boy living a secret life in the walls of a train station in 1930's Paris who is wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father, an eccentric girl, and a broken automaton.
Jude Law and Ben Kingsley also star. Noticeably absent is Leonardo DiCaprio who's been in Scorsese's last nine feature films. In other words, they're total BFFs. Unfortunately Leo couldn't be in this film because he's currently shooting Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar.
