Colin Firth Was Also Spotted on Set of "The Railway Man"

Earlier we saw Nicole Kidman filming a scene for the upcoming World War II era film The Railway Man in Berwick, Scotland. It turns out that Colin Firth was also there on May 16th filming some of his scenes for the film.

No doubt that the married father of two will be looking to earn another Academy Award win or at least a nominee with this performance. With the talent he has, I'm convinced he'll at least be up for consideration. Although with all of the awards he's been nominated for or won in his career, I'm still upset that none were for Love Actually. I actually love that movie! (That was a lame joke, I know, but it's Friday so leave me alone.)

Colin Firth is "The Railway Man"

Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman were recently seen on the set of The Railway Man in Australia. From guardian.co.uk:

"The film, directed by Jonathan Teplitzky, starts filming in Scotland on Monday(May1). It is based on (Eric) Lomax's book of the same name, which tells of his suffering as a young Scottish POW on the Burma railway and how, with the help of his wife, he travelled back to Asia to meet one of his torturers in an attempt let go of a lifetime of bitterness and hate.

Wow, that sounds like a deeply serious and moving story. Much too serious for the likes of us, so we'll just focus on the actors looking great on the set. No release date has been set but once it is I think we all should watch this story to further understand how devastating war can truly be.

Cameron is just a few years away from turning 40, but she told Australia's Cleo magazine that there's nothing to be feared:

"There's nothing scary about it at all. Life is so much better as you get older. You're liberated from so many things. I feel stronger, better, more capable, more fulfilled, and happier than I ever did when I was 29, when I was 30, even 35. I prefer it."

Colin Firth is a "Gambit" guy

Colin Firth is seen on the set of his new film Gambit on Sunday in London (June 19).

According to Hello magazine, the reigning "Best Actor" Oscar-winner was barely noticed on the busy street:

"Chatting on a mobile phone in front of Westminster Abbey, Colin Firth went almost unnoticed. Shoppers and tourists flocked past as The King's Speech star worked on scenes for his latest film.

"Dressed in a nondescript grey suit, a pair of glasses and with ruffled hair, few appeared to recognise the A-list star standing next to a newly-assembled flower stand."

Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz on the set of Gambit

Can't get enough of Cameron Diaz? Well either can we! Check out some new pics of Ms. Diaz and her co-star Colin Firth on the set of their new movie Gambit at Heathrow airport on Thursday (May 19).

Diaz, who has been dating Yankee star Alex Rodriguez, will not be getting married anytime soon. Cameron recently called marriage a "dying institution." Then, she shared: "I don't think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don't suit our world any longer."

Cameron is known for being in long relationships that don't end in marriage. Justin Timberlake and her also dated for years before calling it quits.

I guess when you are 38 and look as good as she does, you can say whatever you want!

Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz filming "Gambit"

Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz are spotted filming their new movie Gambit at Heathrow Airport in London on Tuesday (May 17). Cameron was also spotted on set earlier this month. Check out those pics here.

The film is a remake of the 1966 comedy thriller of the same name. Firth plays the role of a London art dealer who tries to steal a piece of artwork from the world's richest man (Alan Rickman). Diaz plays a rodeo cowgirl who somehow gets herself mixed up in the scheme because she resembles the wealthy man's wife. Of course nothing goes as planned.

The film is being directed by the Coen brothers so you know it's going to be fantastic.

On the set of the Best Picture-winning "The King's Speech"

As you've no doubt heard by now, The King's Speech won Best Picture at last night's Academy Awards. The film was the big winner of the night as Tom Hooper won Best Director and Colin Firth was also named Best Actor.

Here's some pictures of the set of The King's Speech from back in September 2009. The pics show the dramatic 1930's transformation of the Pullens Buildings on Crampton Street in Southwark, London. Modern amenities such as parking ticket machines were covered with fiberglass period-authentic postboxes and a fog machine was used to create a smoggy atmosphere.
