Hugh Grant on the set of "Cloud Atlas"

Hugh Grant is seen exiting his trailer on the set of Cloud Atlas in Berlin, Germany on Friday (November 11). Grant was spotted earlier in the day looking unrecognizable in a fake mustache and beard.

Though Cloud Atlas will be an English-language film, its been described by some as "the first attempt at a German blockbuster." With its $100+ million budget, the film is the most expensive German-produced film to date.

Cloud Atlas is being directed by Tom Tykwer and The Wachowskis. The two teams are actually filming parallel to each other with different camera crews.

Keith David filming "Cloud Atlas"

Keith David is spotted on the set of Cloud Atlas last Friday in Glasgow, Scotland (September 16). Hugo Weaving was also spotted on set - check out the pics in the gallery.

Also starring in the film - directed by Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski - is English actor Ben Whishaw. Whishaw revealed to to indieWIRE earlier this month that he plays a woman in the film - and he may not be the only one swapping genders!:

"Everyone in the cast is playing at least three parts, some big and some small. I'm doing three: Frobisher in the thirties; a female American in the seventies, in the Luisa Rey section; and a smallish role, where I'm basically an extra, in a modern-day nursing home, in the Timothy Cavendish section. Everybody's swapping race and gender, so it's very ambitious and quite fun. I'll really love playing a woman!"

Halle Berry filming "Cloud Atlas"

Halle Berry is spotted filming Cloud Atlas in Glasgow, Scotland last Friday (September 16). Glasgow seems to be a popular filming location lately - Brad Pitt's new film World War Z just wrapped up filming there (check out some pics here).

Glasgow is actually standing in for 1970s San Francisco. Cloud Atlas, which is based off of the 2004 best-selling novel of the same name by author David Mitchell, is an unconventional film which tells the story of intertwining souls across the centuries. It also stars Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, and Susan Sarandon.
