Throwback Thursday is a weekly update that we do here on Caught on Set. Every Thursday we post pictures from the set of a movie you haven’t seen in a while, or possibly ever.

This might be the oldest movie we've ever thrown it back to... or the exact opposite. 2008's The Dark Knight was to be Heath Ledger's second to last movie and featured him in perhaps his most memorable role as the Joker. The Dark Knight's cast also featured the amazing talents of Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman.

PICTURES: Check out more on the Throwback Thursday page

I know 2008 isn't that long ago, but 4 years is a pretty long time. Besides with the release and subsequent success of The Dark Knight Rises makes this week's Throwback more relevant. I wonder if Heath Ledger had not tragically taken his own life, would they have tried to bring him back for TDKR? He was so great in the role, even winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, it's hard to imagine him not being involved in TDKR if he were still available.

Aaron Eckhart is seen in full make up on the set of I, Frankenstein in Australia. We also have some pics of the set which was damaged a couple weeks ago by some "hooligans." From the Herald Sun:

"The quiet suburb of Park Orchards has been home to the movie, starring Aaron Eckhart and Miranda Otto, for the last six weeks with film scenes being shot there last Wednesday.

But it turned into a real life horror on Sunday at 1am when hooligans barged in and trashed the set. Police said they are now investigating the incident with the damage bill unknown."

Bunch of animals in this town. Why would you waste your time to destroy something that someone, or someones, have put so much time, effort and money into? Especially one as cool looking as this set? Well, It looks like they were able to fix the damage done by the hooligans and are back on track. I, Frankenstein will hit theaters February 22, 2013.
