With a Domestic Lifetime Gross of $56,954,992, including $239,000 from a 2001 re-issue, the movie ranks 1,090th on the all time domestic chart. That's not bad for a movie that was rated "G." Released in 1968, 2001: A Space Odyssey pushed the limits of imagination and has since been referenced in countless movies. 2001 is ranked as the number 15 greatest film of all time on the AFI's Top 100 list. If you haven't seen this film yet, you really should.
