Brad Pitt is spotted shooting a late-night scene for his new film Cogan's Trade last Saturday in New Orleans (Mar. 12).
New Orleans' local WWLTV had a pretty interesting piece yesterday on the many film shoots going down in the Crescent City. While some locals are experiencing a boom, others a seeing a bust:
"The location [for "Cogan's Trade"] was Maple Leaf bar. So, they had contracted with maple street to have their location there. They also worked with Jacques Imo's and compensated them and additional businesses in the immediate area," said Katie Gunnell, director of Film New Orleans.
But businesses on the next block, like dog groomer, Scissor Man's Paws & Claws, not only didn't make money of the production, but lost money on it, because the owner said his clients couldn't get to his shop to drop off their dogs.
"I'm really feeling like, who cares about the small business owners in the city when they're shooting a movie. At the same time, I understand they're gonna make money off it, but I'm not. Definitely not," said Gary Anderson, owner of Scissor Man’s Paws & Claws.
